What Diocesan Needed
Catholic parish bulletins are often poorly designed- not because parish staff don’t care, but because they don’t have the tools, time, or design training to do it well. Diocesan wanted to solve that problem at the system level.
They needed a way to give parish secretaries and staff access to beautiful, appropriate, and easy-to-use content that aligned with the liturgical calendar and the rhythms of parish life. The goal wasn’t to make everything flashy. Tt was to make good design accessible and usable across thousands of parishes.

How I Helped
I led the design of the Diocesan Library of Art: a centralized, curated resource built specifically for parish use. I designed and organized a growing collection of graphics, illustrations, text art, bulletin covers, and carefully restored public-domain artwork, all aligned to the liturgical calendar.
I researched and sourced historical artwork, digitally restored and reworked it, and created original designs for every season, weekly reading, and saint feast day. Each asset was uploaded and categorized by season, feast day, and liturgical context so parishes could quickly find what they needed without overthinking it.
To support adoption and build excitement, I also created seasonal lookbooks that previewed upcoming artwork and themes, along with digital marketing materials for the launch of the Library. This helped introduce the resource clearly and inviting parishes to start using it right away.

What Changed
The Library of Art gave parishes something they’d never had before: a design system that respected both Catholic tradition and modern visual standards. Parish staff could create bulletins that felt intentional and cohesive without needing design expertise or extra time.
Instead of starting from scratch each week, parishes had a trusted resource that made good design the default. The launch materials and lookbooks helped drive early adoption, and the Library became an ongoing tool that reduced friction for staff while elevating how the Church communicates visually.
